Ford Recalls 129,000 Fusions and Mercury Milans After Studs Fracture on Steel Wheels - NYTimes.com

Ford is recalling almost 129,000 of its 2010-11 Ford Fusions and Mercury Milans because the wheel studs on vehicles equipped with 17-inch steel wheels could break, potentially leading to a wheel coming loose and falling off.

Ford told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the recall in a report (PDF) filed Friday on the agency’s Web site.

Vehicles with alloy wheels are not affected.
