Representative Peter King Questions White House on Bin Laden Film - NYTimes.com
The White House spokesman, Jay Carney, called Mr. King’s suggestion that security was being compromised for political reasons “ridiculous” and said the White House had not divulged any classified information to the filmmakers. Administration officials were providing them with the same information about the Bin Laden raid that they have given to all the news media, he said.
Meanwhile, the filmmakers themselves weighed in with a statement rejecting the notion that their work was intended to serve Mr. Obama’s political interests.
“Our upcoming film project about the decade-long pursuit of Bin Laden has been in the works for many years and integrates the collective efforts of three administrations, including those of Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama, as well as the cooperative strategies and implementation by the Department of Defense and Central Intelligence Agency,” Ms. Bigelow and Mr. Boal said.
