Spanish-language ad blames Republicans for immigration failure – Hispanosphere – Orlando Sentinel
Immigrant, voting rights and workers advocacy groups announced today a Spanish-language radio ad campaign blaming Republicans for the defeat of the immigration bill that would have helped an estimated 2 million young immigrants to become legalized.
The ad campaign, supported by the Service Employees International Union, the Mi Familia Vota Civic Participation Campaign and immigration-advocacy group America’s Voice, will represent an ad buy of more than $300,000 across several radio markets “where Latino voters will play a decisive role in contested races this November and in 2012.”
The ads will be heard in Orlando and Miami radio stations in Florida as well as in Phoenix and Tucson in Arizona; Denver, Colorado; Chicago, Illinois; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Houston and McAllen in Texas. The organizers did not specify how their advertising costs would be split across those markets.
