FOXNews.com - Arizona Governor Gets Few Results From Meeting With Obama
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer appeared to obtain few results from her meeting with President Obama Thursday, telling reporters only that the president will dispatch an official to sit down with her in a few weeks and he provided no details about where the 1,200 National Guard troops will be deployed along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Brewer said that she's encouraged there will be "much better dialogue between the federal government and the state of Arizona" on border security and immigration reform.
Brewer met with Obama to discuss the state's new law clamping down on illegal immigrants that the White House opposes.
Opponents of the law claim it is the role of the federal government -- not the state -- to enforce immigration law, while supporters believe that states should have the right to police illegal immigrants.
