Costa Mesa declared itself a 'rule of law' community - latimes.com

The Costa Mesa City Council has voted unanimously to declare itself a "rule of law" community, further widening the divide over illegal immigration in the central Orange County city.

Costa Mesa has sought for several years to reduce the number of illegal immigrants within its borders by regulating day laborers, asking police to check the immigration status of people they stop and limiting the number of soccer fields in parks.

I hope this doesn't surprise anyone, Orange County hasn't been Hispanic Friendly in a LONG time !

  1. Actually, the vote was 4-0, with council member Katrina Foley departing the chambers before this issue was discussed. This is pure political posturing by Mayor Allan Mansoor to grease the skids of his run for the 68th Assembly seat being vacated by Van Tran. He generated the same divisive chaos in Costa Mesa 4 years ago as he ran for re-election on the backs of the City's Latino population.
